Amigos Locale Launch!

Amigos Locale was officially ‘christened’ on November 14, 2023 with an evening of culinary delights, sharing information about this A.I.R.E. program, and expressions of gratitude to the partners, donors and volunteers who made it all possible. Dinner highlights included a beef au gratin by Chef Nite and Penasco Culinary Art student and a freshly cut salad grown by Taso High Farm Internship. “We are bringing together community in the heart of Taos,” Micah Roseberry explains her vision for the new space. Amigos Locale is primarily used for cooking 700 meals a day for the kids’ lunch program, but is also a commissary kitchen and gathering space for education, workshops and classes.

The video, Vista Grande High School Garden Internship, played at the event was an example of the programs that A.I.R.E. supports. In the video, Vista Grande students speak about what this gardening project means to them.

The dining room, complete with a stage and sound system, is available to rent for private parties, educational workshops/classes for all ages and live music. Catering packages, using fresh, locally sourced food and juices, are also available. Email Lindsay at amigoslocale@gmail.com for more info on space rental or the community dinner.

“When it comes to Native and Mexican cooking, you measure with your heart! All is made with love because you’re not only serving it to your family, you’re serving it to the community that loves you. No matter what, through food everyone can be united!” ~ Adora Lopez, Vista Grande High School Intern
